Why We Built This
The Story Behind Duncan’s Pack
Sir Duncan was one of the surviving “royalty dogs” — rescued from a heartbreaking abuse and abandonment case in Northern Michigan. When Cathy first saw him at Cherryland Humane Society in 2019, sitting quietly by himself, something in her just knew. We brought him home soon after, and he changed our lives. His story was later shared by the Record-Eagle, and it became the heart of why Duncan’s Pack exists — because every dog deserves safety, love, and a real chance at home.

Sir Duncan’s rescue story helped shape the mission behind Duncan’s Pack.
When Duncan passed suddenly, the grief was real and it was deep. But in that grief, something clarified. His life was too meaningful to just mourn. So we built something in his honor — for every dog still waiting, and for every person who might find their people through the love of one.
“We decided that Duncan’s life was too meaningful to just grieve. We wanted it to mean something for every dog still waiting.”
Duncan waited too long. We built this so his story means something for every dog still waiting.

The Dog Who Started It All
He waited longer than most.
He changed everything.
He brought two people home.
